RECREATION @ VCU CARY STREET GYM
Orchestra Project is both a musical and a social experience. Counselors and faculty members make sure kids get to be kids as part of camp!
Students enjoy at least an hour each day of recreation at the VCU Cary Street Gym. The Cary Street Gym opened at 101 S. Linden St. for the spring 2010 semester. The former city auditorium building underwent a $47 million renovation and was constructed to meet LEED Silver standard, a measure for sustainability in buildings. Several parts of the original auditorium can still be seen in places like the entrance and outside walls.
Cary Street Gym is among an elite nine award winners in the country for “Outstanding Sports Facilities”. It features court games, indoor arenas, a half salt/chlorine pool, and two rock climbing walls.
Each day campers have several activities to choose from while at the gym including:
- Table Tennis
- Rock Climbing
- Plus more!
Students must have athletic shoes on to enter the gym.
Students will not have access to any free weights or cardio machines.
