The following positions are open for the 2017 summer.

  1. Resident Counselors, male and female

    Orchestra Project Resident Counselors serve as role models for resident campers and ensure each child’s safety during the week.  Our counselors seek to create a close-knit community of students that thrive in their musical and social endeavors. Orchestra Project is an unplugged, computer-free music camp. There are 3-5 Resident Counselor positions available.

    Duties include: live with your assigned resident campers in the VCU dorm, eat with campers, supervise dorm clean-up, participate in recreational and social activities, and assist campers with problems and concerns.

    Resident counselors work under the supervision of a Head Counselor and Orchestra Project Camp Directors. Successful candidates are upbeat, energetic, possess strong organization skills and have previous experience working with teenagers.  Salary: $350-$400 plus room & board.

  2. Elective Instructor — Art

    DATES:                        June 25 – July 1, 2017

    Orchestra Project seeks two art instructors to lead-teach elective classes, Monday through Friday, 3:20-4:30 plus set-up and clean-up (2 hrs daily).  Ideal candidates will have some prior teaching experience, an interest in working with elementary and middle school-aged students, and work well with students of mixed ages & abilities.

    Orchestra Project elective classes provide an opportunity for campers to explore art and creativity away from their primary instrument.  Visual art elective instructors will design and lead several projects for non-art students during the week.  Successful class projects will find a comfortable balance between challenging, meaningful and enjoyable.
